Buying for a specific age?
One Thing Most Buyers Miss
Pitch speed depends on the ball, not just the dial. The same machine throws 40 MPH with orange lite balls and 80 MPH with green lite balls. Real leather balls also pitch less accurately than dimpled machine balls, because the seams cause the wheel to grip each pitch differently.
Never use synthetic leather balls in a wheel machine. The cover shreds, sticks to the wheel, and shortens its life. If you see puffs of dust coming off the machine, that is the ball breaking apart.
